Poor thing. Can he use Compeed patches? I just discovered them last week and they really helped healing.

Also teatree oil.

Someone told me hold an ice-cube on when you feel the tingle for as long as you can bear. I haven't tried it yet, but will.

Is he poorly or run down?

Blistex (Blisteze) Relief Cream - marvellous stuff!

Have you seen your GP? I think Acyclovir can be prescribed for kids.

I have posted this on another thread but here you go anyway this zapper has worked wonders for me, have gone from constantly having huge weeping cold sores to hardly ever getting even little ones. It is not cheap but it really works.

he's not the best sleeper in the world, loves to get up early!!

I think I might give gp a phone, I find acyclovir works wonders for me, maybe he could get some although the leaflet that comes with the medicine say "not tested on children"

treacletart, does blisteze cause the skin ti dry out and sometimes split like zovirax? i gave up with zovirax as my mouth ended up a mess due to drying out the cold sore caused bleeding when the skin cracks

I feel really bad for giving this to ds2, I kiss him too much and now he's got these awful cold sores like me

We have acyclovir prescribed by the docs for my 7yo, he has been using it since he was a baby.

Hope it went OK Chelsygirl. I really feel for you, I have always been paranoid about giving it to my DDs.

the dr only recommended zovirax, which as I said I don't want to use on him.....

I said to her I feel bad for giving him the virus, she said he could have caught it in a lot of ways.........know it was me though!
