hi im supposed to be having one fitted tomorrow but ive heard some horror stories and now im scared stiff ive got 3 children but by c-section , someone said you should hyave local anastheatic if you have had no vaginal deliveries ,so really just wondering what to expect!!!!thanks.xx

I had one fitted before I was ever pregnant, and the actual insertion was fine- just a bit crampy afterwards. Second time round, after a vag delivery there was no pain at all.
I love mine ! No hassle and hardly a period to speak of.

take some nurofen before you go

it is no worse than a smear test IMO, concentrate on breathing and relaxing..
