I have had two cholesterol tests within 6 weeks of another, by chance one was for an NHS research project and the other was a private MOT work pay for. NHS health check showed LDL bad cholestoerol at 3.48 and provate health check at 5.4. How can it jump so quickly 6 weeks apart, both were the same in terms of non fasting. one a bit high and one worringly high. The week before the MOT I did eat a lot of cakes due to stress at work, usually I am very good, think a bag of four bakery cookies one day and a few dougnuts over the week too.

I think a bag of bakery cookies and a few doughnuts a week is loads! I would have a doughnut maybe once a month, and maybe the same with the cookies. Having all haay sugar in one week is huge! X

Without Seeing what you’d eaten, I would have guessed at an increase in trans fats, and the doughnuts definitely fit that category.
What age are you? Mine went up quite a lot during peri menopause.
