Can anyone advise on my cholesterol results please?

I think they're bad but the nurse just shrugged and said to lose some weight (I have a BMI of 31 so I know I definitely need to get it down.)

Total cholesterol 6.47
HDL 1.78
Triglycerides 2.04
LDL 3.73

Blood pressure was 111/67

Can anyone with any more insight or expertise please help me understand these results? I'm late 30s if that makes a difference.

They are not too bad, the total should be under 5. Blood pressure is great.

Thank you @Theoldcuriosityshop . I think I'm panicking as my health always seemed pretty good (other than I'm overweight) but I think this has given me a shock.
