dd had a few spots on the top of her foot at the end of last week and i didnt really take much notice, over the weekend she complained of a sore mouth, but she is teething so thought it was that and calpol'd/ nurofen'd as necessary. today ive notice 5/6 spots on her hands that dont seem to be bothering her. she seems a lot better today, eating again etc, so i think she is over the worse - does this sound like had foot and mouth, and do you think a trip to the docs is necessary, as its viral? docs is quite far, we are car less and its so COLD. is ds likely to catch too?

My 2 had it at the same time a couple of years ago - they would have been 2 and 4 at the time. I can't quite remember the symptoms, but they both had very sore mouths and found eating painful - I seem to remember very cold yoghurts was all they felt like eating for several days.

We were on holiday in a very small flat and it rained the whole time - not one of our best times!

I think it is massively contagious - look in archived threads or google.

We certainly didn't go to the doctor - think its just one of those "make them as comfortable as possible and it will pass" things.
