Would you be concerned?

On Tuesday last week I was full of cold.
In the evening I felt awful, as in unwell and my temp was 39.5
I was off work all week and went back Monday.
I wasn't feeling all better but had improved.
My temp hovered around 38 / 39 on wed and Thur.
More like high 37 / low 38 Fri and sat.
Nearing 39 again Sunday
On Monday I was 38 but needed back at work.
My temperature is still around 37.5 most of the time.
It's a braun thermoscan and does 2 beeps meaning fever.
I've been having a fever now almost constantly for 8 days.

I don't feel great, but feel like I'm on the mend.

I have no specific symptoms.... No ear ache, sore throat, head ache, tummy symptoms... Just feel rough and like a heavy cold.

Should I see a GP?
Or as I feel like I'm (slowly) improving should I just ignore it.
(Don't want to waste a GPS very precious time)
How long should I wait before doing an econsult?

I'm only doing my temp 2 or 3 times a day.
Each time I think surely it will be normal now, but it's not

(The same thermometer is registering my children with normal temperatures (they are not unwell) so I don't think the thermometer is at fault, I definitely have a fever)

Also, just adding, that when I'm well the same thermometer normally says im 36.7 / 36.8.

I'm never even 37 when I'm well

Also I've done 5 negative COVID tests

Does paracetamol bring down your temperature?

changedmynam · 28/02/2024 17:03

With paracetamol it's come down yes, to about 37.1 - 37.4 minimum, and when it's higher it's bought it down a bit to be less high

Because I'm not feeling that bad any more I haven't taken any since yesterday morning

I wouldn’t be too worried. A normal temperature is up to 37.2. I would stop taking your temperature several times a day. (Unless there’s a medical reason you should?)

Sounds like you had a virus and that’ll take time to get over.
