Anyone has done FULL HEALTH CHECK privately?

Is there merit doing this annually? I know some other countries people have this as a routine.

NHS website has health check offer for >40 every five years. Apart from the smear, I'm not aware of any or ever have been invited. Is it worth asking the GP at all?

If GP privately, does anyone have good recommendations for the service provider who are reliable and not all about ripping off the patients?

I go to the Spire quite often now since being misdiagnosed by an indifferent GP after years of being dissatisfied with my GP's manner, and complete lack of interest in several serious conditions. Plus the fact you can't get into see them at the best of times (she works two mornings a week. I have seen 1 GP at Spire and 3 specialists for various conditions and rate them very highly. DH is having a private GP appointment with Spire today and it is £120 for a 30 minute initial consult and hopefully a referral.

I am over 50 and have only had one general health MOT - at the age of 40. DH is a very long way over 40 and has never had a general health check via the NHS.

personally I wish to have a proper checkup annually. It was King Charles's cancer diagnosis that made me decide this. I don't for a second imagine anything amiss would be discovered in a timely fashion by my current GP.

My DH gets one yearly through his work and I have had two he has paid for for me. His flagged up a prostate issue that would have gone undetected for a long time. Mine got me a referral to an orthopaedic surgeon although ultimately he couldn't really help with the issue I was having. I am pursuing that elsewhere. It's definitely worth doing.
