Can anyone advise me on ttc after having colposcopy please

Hi all

My DS was a yr old & last March I was told that I had cin3 I had to wait till May to be seen in hosp for a colposcopy which I was told was all clear.

I had a smear done again in Sept which was clear and I am due another smear in Sept of this year. I would really love another baby I thought I would have been ttc last yr but due to what happened with smear we put off ttc.

I am now afraid to start ttc until I get this smear done as I got such a fright when this happened last yr as the smear was done in sept the previous yr and it did not come back until march last yr.

So I am wondering has anyone been through this if yes could you advise me?? Why am I so scared am I silly??

you're not silly! a few years ago i had a colposcopy and thn needed further surgery, but luckily all clear. since then i had six monthly smears and now annual ones. although this was a few years before dd, i did miss a smear last year because we were ttc. this meant a big gap betwen smears what with pregnancy etc. anyway finally had it and all clear again BUT i was terrified there would be a problem. this prob doesn't help but if i was in your position i would continue ttc. can you talk to your gp/practice nurse?

Thanks leifmum for your reply, I might go and have a chat with my gp again and maybe bring the smear forward a few months so then my mind is at ease.

I got such a fright when it all happened & then when I went in for the colposcopy it was a real wake up call for me. I just want to know that all is ok now iykwim - Thanks again
