Hayfever and asthma sufferers: has tree pollen season started early this year?

I thought I'd got another cold just two days after shaking off the last one. But the symptoms are itchy throat, itchy, streaming eyes, streaming nose, asthmatic cough. I usually get these when the tree pollen comes out.

is anyone else getting early symptoms?

Me. I've been unwell recently so at first thought my cold/flu had come back when I started sneezing but then the itchy eyes started. Took a fexofenadine tablet and it all went away.

The seasons are screwy due to global warming so I wouldn't be surprised if tree pollen has started early.

It's been bad for at least a couple of weeks where I live. I use an app that monitors pollen and tells you what is and isn't out in your area.

Same here, I thought I was getting a cold, its only when my eyes were driving me mad itching I twigged it was hayfever

Hazel and birch has been out for weeks, we've now got daffodils, blackthorn and all the cherries as well. I don't think it is particularly early this year though. I usually start getting symptoms around the beginning of February, and it was the same this year. The worst for setting me off is lilac, and that's a way off yet.

Me too! My eyes have been so sore, my nose is constantly running...been like this for a couple of weeks. I'd forgotten about hayfever.

Mine always starts super early in the year, then it goes and then DS will have his kick in. It's quite interesting.

Off to find the app that a PP referred to.

Would you mind telling which app you use, please?

Me. Never had this so early before but saw the blossoms were coming out so now I know.

Yep, struggling here as well. Won’t be long before I’ll be on antihistamines all year round at this rate!

It's called Pollen Pal, created by Kleenex I think. You can put in where you live and it provides local levels of tree, flower and grass pollen.
