Is vomiting a sign of chicken pox?

My dd (2 Years) has been sick for the last couple of days, we got an emergency appt at the doc who put it down to a bug, however last week she was in contact with a friend who has now come down with chicken pox, the friend didn't suffer any sickness, just the rash.
Anyone any experience of this? I feel so sorry for her all she wants to do is sleep and she is really lethargic (not surprising as she had had no food, just small amounts of water)

My two never vomitted with CP.

My DS had CP last year (when he was 2). A day or two before the spots appeared he did an impressive projectile vomit completely out of the blue.

One minute he was playing happily, next minute BBLEEURGGH. Once he'd got over the shock and into clean clothes he continued playing happily.

I guess your DD could be coming down with it.

Your poor dd. We're just finishing CP here, and we haven't had vomiting. Perhaps she just has a nasty stomach bug?

Also remember that the CP virus usually incubates for a good 10 days in my dc's case for 20 days before it appears.

yes my dd was up two nights vomiting, presumed it was bug but on the third day the spots came out. suppose it's different for everyone tho! good luck...

when ds1 had it 18 months ago he was off nursery a week before with a ' vomiting bug'. then lo and behold he got chicken pox so she could be coming down with it.
