Private MRI with Vista Health - preventative?

Just saw on another thread this company mentioned and wondered if anyone had done this. DH and I are mid to late 70's and thinking it may be an idea to have a full body MRI although its not cheap at £1800.

It seems like a good idea to nip anything in the bud that may be "lurking" rather than wait until there are full blown symptoms.

We are fairly healthy although both have a few niggling problems.

Any experiences woud be helpful and thanks in advance.

if you have £3600 to blow …. go for it.

would i? no. Why? because a week after you have an mri something could begin to fester.

So unless you’re planning on 2-3x a year x pretty pointless

I wouldn't.

It may show up something that you then have to have treated "just in case" although it was unlikely to have caused any problems in the future.

Over diagnosis and treatment is a risk in all screening programmes, and one the PIL sent with the invites now mention.

Thanks for the comments and I can see that it may cause over diagnosis and is certainly not cheap, I will have to think about it a bit more.
