Pins and needles, internal buzzing feeling and other weird symptoms

I had a chest infection/cold for a few weeks in December time and at the time had tingling feelings and numbness in feet, hands, legs and arms. The feelings went and the GP said at the time it was just part of the virus/infection.

Ever since I’ve had this weird internal buzzy feeling. Sometimes it like I’m twitching internally other times like an electrical current is buzzing through me. I feel like light pins and needs in my fingers and toes. I’m also getting frequent pins and needles really randomly throughout the day, even when walking!

The feelings seem to be getting worse and I’m now finding it’s keeping me awake.

Also random pin prick headaches which I’ve never had before and sometimes the feeling of water dropping onto my skin.

tinnitus too

more tired

the skin on my face is dry and red.

I’m 37 so maybe it’s an age thing. Ive had two blood tests in the last year as my thyroid was just under normal levels.

just wondering if anyone else had had anything similar?

Yeah I've had the twitching and buzzing. I think it was stress / anxiety possibly combined with the perimenopause - search benign fasciculation syndrome - there are Facebook groups full of people with very similar symptoms. I don't really get it much any more.

Thanks- I’ll have a look at that.

It’s such a strange feeling. It makes me feel like I’m almost detached from my own body. Getting really fed up and and down about it.

The tiredness and pins and needles both point to low B12 levels - ask your GP for a blood test

A lot of people with post covid long covid have had these symptoms too- even when all bloods and MRIs come back ok- I know many thought it must be MS but it wasn't in most cases- I have those weird twitchy things for 18 months- better than it was but still there occasionally and mine came on post my 4th vaccine. The leg thing felt like you had switched a battery on and it was buzzing away in lower legs for a while and then it just stops -

I felt like this for a few months after I had covid.

I’ve got a drs appointment in 5 weeks (earliest they could offer). I might see if I can request a blood test in the meantime as otherwise it could be a further couple weeks until I can get a blood test appointment.

I saw that I can order a b12 blood test from a few places online but not sure they are the full test.

I did think about long Covid, but had Covid in 2021 and I didn’t really have any symptoms after. I did test when I had a chest infection in December and it was negative. But it did all seem to start after having a virus in December.

I’ve stopped drinking tea/coffee for the last 2 days but not noticed any difference.

Anxiety/stress/trauma, long Covid/post viral, vaccines, autoimmune conditions like Sjogrens, coeliac, fibromyalgia, functional neurological disorder, me/cfs, peri & B12 or d deficiency. I have an AI condition and the vibrations & twitching increase when I catch viruses then tail off. Went crazy after Covid & booster. I get tinnitus too. Hopefully it resolves soon or GP can refer.
