Ok so I have a prescription for monthlies. I know the base curve, diameter, power. I know the material.

Can I buy some different ones with the same numbers? Eg rather than specsavers I’ll buy acuvue with the same measurements?

Can I buy dailies with the same specifics? I used to have some but my prescription for them ran out, so only have my monthlies prescription. Would prefer to stock up on dailies for sport again but currently overseas so can’t get to my usual opticians

It’s not advisable as they may be made from different material and could cause your eye to be starved of oxygen if they don’t suit. That’s why you have a follow up to check, before being issued a prescription, once you are started on new lenses.

Please don't - every single clinic I run I get someone who has done that and now has a problem. The BC varies within the different lens brands, never mind across the brands and they all have different thicknesses, edge lifts and central profiles.
If the lens doesn't fit it rubs on the eye which creates an access point for bacteria into the eye.
