Rub olive oil into the scalp (gently). Then shampoo off with an egg (unless obviously) your tot has an egg allergy. Avoid baby shampoo like the plague. Reduce hair washing to an absolute minimum - we do DDs once a month now unless she has actively rubbed stuff into her hair. Has reduced the cradle cap by about 90%.

My DD's hairdresser said to rub olive oil onto scalp at night and then rub shampoo on it in the morning to remove the oil before washing. Haven't yet tried but egg sounds interesting!

We used aqueous cream - although dermol or double base would do. Rub on half an hour before bath. Rinse well in clean water. You can use all of the above creams as a soap substitute as well if LO has really bad dry skin.
