The last time I remember having this pain was when I was about 14 yrs old. I was literally pulling myself along the hallway then, on the floor!!

Last night I only needed to go for a poo, but then got taken over by (not unlike) labour type pains around my bum, the whole down below area. Real spasms, they were. I couldnt sit on the loo. I had to lean over and breath thru these pains.

I eventually went to the loo, when the spasms had calmed down a bit, and I had slow breathed them down a bit.

The poo (tmi-sorry) ws normal,

Today, I feel bloated, and gripey.

I have, but only really when I have a bug, or eaten something my body objected to!!

oh, and too much wine sets me off like this too.......

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 22/03/2008 09:51

I have this on a fairly regular basis but have had major surgery down there over the years and it is 'normal' for me. Tis very painful though.

allgonebellyup · 22/03/2008 09:52

im betting it was one enormous turd? like a baby?

piratecat · 22/03/2008 09:54

what on earth could I have eaten? I only had baked spud, carrots and broccoli for dinner.

I didn't/dont have any stomach ache at al, it bowel type pain.

Is this what you mean that u have had too??

Also I have eaten this food plenty of times with mo prbs!!

Maybe it was a bug? I felt slightly queasy for about ten mins yesterday, I remember mentioning it to my friend. Also dd said she wasnt feeling 'herself' yesterday (that word makes me laff as she is only 5).

Go your GP and get examined. It may be nothing or it may be very serious indeed. There are all manner of things that can cause this type of pain so get it looked at. And you've had a child you can cope with a rectal examination, believe me.

angiebaby78 · 22/03/2008 09:58

sorry to hijake but i remember after having dd2 the pain of going to the loo after was incredible. I knew it was coming and i would try and put it off . This was coupled with really bad after pains !! (was dc3!) Piratecat maybe you should up your fiber to try and limit future episodes [grin, grin]

allgonebellyup · 22/03/2008 10:03

so you would have been fulfilled if it were a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE poo??!!

loopylou6 · 22/03/2008 10:40

i wouldnt be worried unless it persisted, chances are u had alot of wind rattling round in there, did u do alot of farts on the toilet?
(dont ya just love mumsnet )

CrackerOfNuts · 22/03/2008 10:42

Broccoli is a food that irritates alot of sufferes with irritable bowel, so it could have been that.

It sounds like wind tbh. I get it alot, and i do have ibS.

piratecat · 22/03/2008 10:54

bloody hell, wind eh??

thats pretty major pain for wind, it really was like a knife stabbing. The only thing to get rid was not sit on the toilet, and wander around, i could not sit down!!

Hmm, broccoli, i did have alot of it. I have been changing my not great eating habits over the last 4 weeks ( see muffintop thread)too. So my poor body has been rather windy, have cut out alot of wheat, and eating rye based stuff instead.

Maybe my body is adverse to that?? There are lots of seeds in the sour ryebread, its that German bread. Yet I only had one slice yesterday.

Ahh thats what happened with me. I went on a health kick and had loads of salad, bread with seeds in etc, and it definatly effected my bowels.

piratecat · 22/03/2008 11:04

nut build up! !

pirate

do you have your period?

Something similar to me happens when i am on.

I think it may be something to do with hormones, and that bearing down urge. You know when you are pushing a baby out, and it feels like a big poo....?

I Love Mumsnet!!

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 22/03/2008 11:20

It's deffo not like stomach ache of any description; I can relate to the not being able to even sit - just double over until it's passed. Had you previously had the urge to go pirate but put it off?

shrooms · 22/03/2008 11:37

ooh - is the pain like right where your coccyx is and lower back coz I sometimes get that after going or during, not even for any particular reason like straining ect, just happens sometimes. And yes it makes me dizzy and feel like being sick till it goes, usually after a very long 30 secs-1 minute!

belgo · 22/03/2008 11:38

I have this sometimes, and I've spoken to my GP about it and she seems to think irritable bowem syndrome.
