Chest pains and feeling fobbed off

Hi
I went to the doctors a few months ago as I had an ecg for chest pains, dizziness and almost fainting a lot etc.
I had a phone call to say that my ecg was abnormal and I should go to hospital to have it looked at. I then got a phone call perhaps 15 minutes later to say that if they work it out electronically then it's abnormal, but if they do it manually it's fine? They still wanted me to go and have checks at hospital so I did. Blood test and ecg came back okay and they said they'd contact me for an at home ecg over a period of time. They never contacted me and said perhaps it's stress.
I have the chest pains still and my chest gets tight and I get dizzy still. I just went for a run and my chest was so painful I had to stop and now pains down my left leg.
I am worried that they were busy and disregarded me and the whole thing of two different results on my ecg is scaring me

I'd go back to the GP if I were you, as it sounds as though something is wrong. Far too often things that don't have an immediately obvious solution are just written off as 'stress', IMO.

If I was you I'd be off to A&E that's a heart attack/stroke territory. Certainly talking to 111 as a precaution.

I booked another gp appointment this morning and got a call to say they'd referred me to cardiology. I'm not having any pains now but I do get them everyday almost!
I'm only 24 so hopefully not heart attack or stroke!

Or perhaps maybe I should call 111 now

Getting dizzy would also be a concern along with the chest pains. A referral to cardiology is a good thing.

mrandmrsrobinson · 08/02/2024 14:26

What's your blood pressure??

EspressoMartiniBish · 08/02/2024 14:29

Just taken blood pressure @mrandmrsrobinson

97 over 76

Blood pressure fine!
I do have anxiety and this has been a very stressful week so hoping it's just that. Hopefully the cardiologist will be in touch soon

111 will tell you to go to hospital or ring an ambulance if you're having chest pains, pain in your leg and dizziness. I'd not go running at the moment if its bringing the pain on. . It could be a number of things. Blood pressure can be high or low. The ecg they refer to may be due to the machine printout compared that often say abnormal to the doctor reviewing it in person. I'm not a doctor but if I were you I would seek medical help.
