Hole in gum where wisdom tooth is coming in

Hi all,

One of my lower wisdom teeth are coming in and I've noticed that there seems to be a hole in my gum that is getting bigger.
I don't know if it's normal but can't get in to see my dentist until the 8th of March. I've been using an antibacterial alcohol mouthwash but I'm panicking that it's going to get infected.
Has anyone experienced this? Is it normal?

Thank you

Yeah it was normal for me. Started age 30, eventually a visible tooth emerged after a year

It's called 'cutting a tooth' and why babies howl so much! It's sore. Just keep it clean.

It'll be fine, ditto keep clean. For me the main pain eased after a couple of days then was left with jaw ache for a couple of weeks.

Yeah, it's normal. I went through what felt like gallons of Corsodyl whilst mine were coming through. Bottom 2 are still only partway through and don't look like they'll ever fully come in (apparently quite normal) so I still swish it round on a weekly basis and use cotton buds to excavate any debris out (by squeezing from the side)

I had this. Unfortunately mine were impacted and the area where the hole was kept getting infected before they were eventually taken out.

If you can't see your dentist and it starts hurting, see your GP for antibiotics.

I think it's common, I've had a hole in one of my gums for ages, my dentist doesn't really comment on it but I do find food gets trapped and becomes nasty. A water pik is quite good to blast debris out.

Yeah it was quite painful last week and hurt anytime I moved my mouth but now I'm just having intermittent jaw pain but totally manageable
