Paradoxical diarrhea/overflow ADULT

Hello, been having problems with bowels for a long while now, GP provided laxido last month which I took 1-2 sachets a day for a fortnight as directed however once I stopped this things have gone drastically wrong.
Been to a&e yesterday who did an x ray and told me I am full of poo, got home last night and started having diarrhea (ive barely eaten in 3 days due to nausea). Spoke to GP this morning who was able to see the x ray herself and agreed I was full of poo and this new diarrhea is going to be overflow. Her advice is 2 sachets of laxido 2-3 times per day (so 4-6 sachets) for 7 days and then start to dial it back.
My problem lies in the fact that I have bowel movements every single day and they are normal consistency so it's very difficult for me to tell when I'm becoming backed up but this is the first time this paradoxical diarrhea has occured and it's scaring me out of my mind. Has anyone had this happen to them? And please how long is it before the diarrhea stops? I'm afraid to leave my house and feel lousy.

Bumps don't work any longer? It's not moving it up the topic. But can anyone relate to me?

My daughter has this. The laxido should help, but make sure you drink plenty of fluids with it, otherwise it won't work. Don't stop too soon with the laxido either, better to get a really good clear out. As things start to shift you should stop feeling sick. My daughter then has to stay on a maintenance dose of laxido every day, you might need to discuss that with your GP if this keeps happening.

if you are backed up, stick with the laxido as the doctor recommended. it will take a few days to clear everything out, and then keep going with a maintenance dose of laxido. it can take several years for your bowel to shrink back to normal size so that is why it is important to keep going with the treatment.

Thank you so much for replying! How long should I expect to have diarrhea for do you know? GP recommended staying on the 4-6 sachets for a week and then gradually reducing. I feel like I can't go out or do anything right now which is difficult with 2 school aged children.

Also, you want your body to produce LOTS of poo at the moment - massive amounts. the more the better. get it all out and then you can start on the process of recovery.

it could be a week of the high-dose to get it out.

Thank you. I've been 5 times today all diarrhea and even that some of it I was straining to pass it so I think that shows it's overflow as I'm having to force it past the backlog bit? Stomach is absolutely aching along with lower back. I managed 4 sachets today, going to really try for 6 tomorrow, it's hard to drink them plus 6 other normal glasses of water.

I hope it works out for you - I had similar last week, and I got told to take 8 one day, and then 12 the next (which worked).

12?! Freaking hell, how many sachets per cup did you do for that? 2x6 or like 3x4? Did you only do the 2 days of treatment?

for the 12 I did 2 lots of six, 750 mls water for the six, and I had to drink it within the hour. I've slowly titrated it to 3 sachets once a day, they said to just keep increasing if I didn't go.

Ah so you're still on the regime but reducing now? My problem is I go every day so it's hard for me to know when I'm bunged up or what, I have to go by other symptoms (bloating, excessive wind, nausea) it's frustrating.

That must be difficult! I hope you work it out.
