Does anyone know how long you have to wait to hear about an MRI scan appointment once you've seen the Consultant?
I'm waiting on one and I keep being told that the Radiologist needs to sign it off before an appointment can be made.
It's a bit of an anxious time for me so any advice please?

There's no standard waiting time, depends on the particular radiology department, how many MRI scanners and radiologists they have and how busy they are. Also whether your scan was requested urgently or not.

I was told it would take a week or so as my consultant needed to get a specialist radiologist to be there while the mri was done to make sure they got what they needed and then write the report.
I did politely, chase the secretary after a week and got the appointment in a few days.

The longest I’ve waited to get an appointment was a week but this was during Covid. Usually it’s the same day or next day

I was a bit concerned as we haven't even had a date yet

I assume that the booking process is pretty straightforward and would have expected an appointment date by now, even if it is a month away.

My consultant walked me round to the imaging department and I booked it then and there?!
