Taking statins and cholesterol lowering drinks - are there any additional benefits?

My OH and their family have a history of high cholesterol
A few years ago when in mid 50;s diagnosed with above and put on statins - these worked and the readings down to the top end of normal.

I've been looking up those cholesterol drinks to lower this and there are no contraindications according to the bits I've read

However, I could not find anything about having high cholesterol, then put on meds/statins and additionally taking those cholesterol-lowering drinks

Are there any additional benefits if you drink the above with meds?

my cholesterol was 5.75 in the summer. As I had cancer my GP thought it best to start statins immediately. I’ve never had a high fat diet so there was really nothing dietary I could do to improve it so I started taking either a Benecol drink or yoghurt each morning.
a repeat cholesterol test 3 months later revealed a massive reduction to 2.25! GP was amazed & delighted for me.
now I cannot say if it was the addition of Benecol that did the trick or it was the statins - but whatever the reason I’m sticking with the Benecol!

An answer here:

"Yes! Sterols and stanols can be taken alongside statins and they have an additive effect. This is because they work in a different way to reduce blood cholesterol (statins reduce the quantity of cholesterol produced by the liver). It's a good idea to mention to your health professional that you have added plant sterols/stanols to your diet, as it may affect the dosage of medication required."
