Switched to flavored rice cakes and given up alcohol. I could eat crisps everyday easily.

Did you have a liver fibroscan? What was your result? I had one last year and it was 5.2 kPa so normal range.

EndOfIt · 27/01/2024 09:20

Probably once every week or two.

How often do you eat them? How is your diet generally?

Yes i had a fibro scan

I dont have the consultant letter yet

I believe there were 2 sets of results

The first result - in people without liver conditions their result is under 300
Mine was 360.

( but we already knew too much fat in liver )

Awaiting consultant letter about it

Had liver MRI too - no scaring

Have more bloods via gp next month

I’ve got fatty liver, I’ve also got PBC which I take Urso for. My fibroscan was 15 (just out of normal range). I have yearly check ups, the consultant told me to live my life…….I LoVE crisps, I try to eat low fat or lentil crisps. I probably eat about three packets a week but could easily eat more. Also, drinking at least two cups of coffee a day improves liver health.

The coffe is a struggle as I’m a tea drinker. I have one large mug of coffee a day and it’s a struggle to get down. 😖

I struggled with the strong ness of the taste of - normal - coffee
But then bought a vanilla flavour version and found it easier

I drink really strong coffee and love it. Get a milk foamer and use skimmed milk makes it special.

I don’t have the CAP score mine was a free scan on a liver road show they just did the stiffness which is measured in kPg I think anything over 8 is abnormal.

How did you know you had fatty liver already? Do you drink alcohol? Are you obese?

I am obese and use to drink too much wine so I am trying to improve my health. Will go for a free fibroscan scan again this year.

I’ve always drank good coffee ground from fresh beans at home maybe this saved me?

I’ve just pulled my results out and the nurse mentioned some fat in the liver but put it down to my weight and because my score was under 7 she just said for me to lose some weight and cut down on alcohol. I carry mine all around my abdomen. I also have an autoimmune metabolic disorder.

So if yours is 360 CAP that’s only 60 over so they think you can reverse it with diet? Sorry to hear about your miscarriage.

These are the references ranges I got given for the kPa.

That’s good hopefully it will reverse and everything will be fine in a few months. Sounds like you have a good Consultant who is looking after you and keeping a close eye on your levels.

Try the rice cakes the flavoured ones are okay for a crispy texture nowhere near as good as crisps but they do help me stay away from crisps.

Hope it all works out for you 🤞

I only eat crisps rarely - perhaps 6 or 8 bags a year.

Chocolate, on the other hand

No halo here, just not particularly that bothered by crisps.
