I've been sick with flu lik symptoms for almost three weeks now. My toddler was sick first with a cough and snotty nose, he is fine now. I started with a snotty nose, headache, body aches. Over th last two weeks it's slowly progressed to a.horrible chesty cough, bright green phlegm, body aches, swollen glands in my neck, groin, under arms. Went to GP two days ago who gave m antibiotics but I cannot take the ones he gave me due to reactions so I'm waiting for him to get back to me to give m sim thing else. He suspecy d I had a chest infection. My cough is subsiding now but I feel bloody awful, aching all over, feel we k and w very fuzzy head. Sickness and overwhelming nausea. I can go early say I've never felt so unwell in my life. What's going on? I've had som illnesses in my time but this tops it. Not covid, I've been religiously testing. Anyone else in the same boat?

Sorry to hear that, it sounds awful. Maybe you genuinely have the Flu. I think we often say we have flu, when infact we have a really bad cold with a temperature. I remember someone I once worked with had real flu, she said she couldnt get out of bed. Hope you feel better soon.

Flu and Covid are more prevalent than colds at the moment so it’s likely that you have one of those - if you’ve tested negative for Covid it’s likely to be flu and you can feel very very unwell for weeks with that.

I had this or very similar most of November and December. My resting heart rate was raised and my blood pressure and everything. Bloody awful. It was antibiotics got rid of it for me but I still have a wheeze.

Take care, chase that doctor up.
