If you have pneumonia, how long will your temp be up?

Got antibiotics monday, but I still have high temperature, when can I expect it to come down and start feeling better??

My dd's temeperature remained quite high for about a week I am afraid to say. It is quite a nasty thing to get. Poor little soul, I kept telling her to go to school, nothing wrong with you etc until she said "Mummy, I really do think there is something wrong with me". One very mother at surgery that afternoon.

You must, must, must look after yourself after this. Wrap up warm, wear scarves etc. Sorry to sound like a mother hen but it will cause your chest problems every winter now (not pneumonia again).

I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks.
I have pneumonia and an ear infection.
And I am looking after my 6 year old who is off school with bronchitis and a throat infection. And my 2 1/2 year old just recovered from bronchitis.

And we are moving on the 29th March. I am in panick about packing.

When I had pneumonia my temperature was high for about 4 days I think. It is, as Candlewax says a nasty thing to get and you need to try and look after yourself. Is there anyone that could step in and give you some help ?

My dh, in the evening and at night. Today I felt too ill to take my toddler to the nursery, so I struggled at home with both. He had a meeting so he couldnt take him, but he will tomorrow.

Poor you.
I am afraid that when I had pneumonia I had a high temp for 12 days.
Hwvr the antibiotics should start to make you feel better after two or three days. If they don't I would go back to the doctor.
My GP actually followed me up every day until I started to get better. You have to be very carefull with pneumonia.
Hope you feel better soon.
