Could this be skin cancer ???

Hi everyone.

I've had this mark on my leg around 6 weeks. It started of as a small bump that I accidentally shaved over and it started bleeding profusely for around 48 hours and turned extremely itchy. Since then it's turned into a reddish/pink shiney mark with dark brown/black inside and it's totally smooth to touch but it just will not disappear and if anything has became more intense in colour. Just looking for general advice as I will consult a doctor but just wanting opinions. Thank you

Looks like you've had an in growing hair to me but it won't hurt to get it checked. You can probably upload a photo for your GP to look at without even going to the surgery.

I wish it was an ingrown hair but I've checked and triple check it's definitely not an ingrown and it's right next to my knee, and is oddly shaped and darker in a few places inside x

Could be a haemangioma. Your photo is not that clear.

It's as clear as I could possibly get it using an iPhone. And what is Haemangioma? Xx

I had something that looked exactly like this a while ago- also took photos to look at the edges. Mine went in a few weeks but of course it goes without saying that if you’re worried see the GP just in case.

Thank you yes I will definitely speak to the GP as it just seems like it's getting bigger and more prominent in colour and doesn't look like it will go anytime soon, it's been just over 6 weeks and still present xx
