Possible kidney infection - ok to wait until tomorrow?

Long story short, I have a UTI and the antibiotics the GP prescribed are sitting in the chemist which is closed as it's Sunday.

I don't actually have that feeling of having to sit on the toilet 10 times an hour so I'm not too desperate for the medication, however I am getting burning pain in my middle back now as well as my lower abdomen so I'm wondering if the infection might be moving up? I've never had a kidney infection before so tbh I don't actually know.

Anyway my question is will it be ok to leave this until tomorrow when the chemist opens? I feel ok in myself, no temperature or anything like that. The pain isn't agonising either.

I'm not sure. When I had a kidney my temperature was over 40C and the GP sent me straight to hospital. However, if you don't have a temperature it might be ok to wait. I'm not a doctor so I'm not sure. Maybe ring 111 to ask.

No.

Please call 111 and discuss.

Kidney infections can get nasty fast.

Call 111

No. Get it sorted today.

No, don't do that. I did it a few years ago and ended up in hospital. Also, kidney infection can cause sepsis

Uti's can cause lower back pain, burning in back is odd though. Maybe go to out of hours (if you can) rather than call 111 as they're likely to just send to a&e. Best to get antibiotics sooner rather than later. Also maybe invest in some dmanosse powder or pac36 cranberry tablets for the future. Way better than antibiotics in the long run.

My BIL had a missed/late finding out kidney infection and he's now on dialysis 3 x a week (for the last 15 years) with two failed transplants.

Don't risk it op Flowers

To clarify. Missed UTI that in turn infected his kidneys.

Thank you everyone. It turned out my chemist was on the emergency roster today and actually opened at half 4 so I've picked up my medication. I have 3 days of Nitrofurantoin.
