I just wanted to make people aware that antihistamines and OTC sleep aids can cause complete or partial urine retention in both sexes. My DH had to have an emergency urinary catheter inserted at the weekend as he had sudden, complete urine retention.
It's a little known side effect, although it is mentioned as one in the leaflets.
