Health Anxiety and Bowel Issues

Hi, I suffer with anxiety, worry and depression and am on medication for it. For the past year my health anxiety has been hitting the roof and now I feel it's getting worse and I am getting beside myself with it.

In October 2022 I changed my medication to Sertraline because the Prozac that had been on for years was no longer working. I suddenly got diarrhoea bad, at first I thought it was a bug but it continued every day for about two weeks. I had a poo test done and it was normal. The doctor changed my meds to Citralopram and my stomach settled down. Then last September I went back onto Prozac for a while because I felt the Citralapram was helping me feel stronger but making me feel paranoid. I had a total panic attack one day in town, again had severe diarrhoea, I went back onto Citralapram and it calmed down again, my bowels went back to normal.

I am now on Citralopram and it's suiting me well but the bowel issues are coming up again. Last October I had stomach cramps and bout of diarrhoea, but there was a bug going round at work so I assumed it was that. I had to see my doctor for my meds and while I was there she checked my stomach and said it just felt gassy. Once it cleared up I then couldn't move my bowels for about a week and when I did it was perfectly normal.

So now, over Christmas my bowels were normal, apart from being a bit softer than usual but nothing much. I had also had a lot of really smelly wind and stomach bloating. Then it cleared up. Last night I was fine and was out for a meal with my friend and I suddenly started with the diarrhoea again. I had it about twice, it did start of as normal and then turned runny. Again its cleared up.

My doctor did say before that she thinks it could be irritable bowel and a blood test two years ago showed that I am borderline for gluten intolerance but just borderline but I am worried it could be something else because of my anxiety.

I've got an appointment to see my doctor on Wednesday morning but I am away at the moment with family and can't stop worrying. Can anyone reassure me please?
