Hi
My son has had these horrible spots all over his back for weeks now.

At first they were not too bad but they aapear to be getting worse and new ones seem to be cropping up on his torso, arms, and legs.

They are red raised and sometimes itch.
I did take him to see the doctor and she mentioned ringworm and prescribed canestan.
However that didn't appear to be doing any good.

He is now on daktacort cream but they still don,t appear to be going.

I have become a bit embarassed about them and and am reluctant to even send him for his swimming lessons in case everyone thinks I am sending him with something contagious.

Any ideas anyone

My DD just had this and although they didn't blister the Dr eventually diagnosed chicken pox ( although formally non-specific viral rash)
there are loads ofthese going around at the moment. Not quite sure what is going on

molluscum possibly? are some of them pearly?

crazedupmom · 17/03/2008 15:51

My ds has had chicken pox so it can't be that.

My mom keeps going on about too much sugar in the blood.
Apparently my brother had something similar and the doctor told her to cut down on sugary foods.

These spots of my sons don't appear to blister either.
They are just inflamed looking and sometimes dry looking.

What is molluscum belgo.
I wouldn,t describe them as pearly they are just red, raised, and sometimes dry looking.

They look ten times worse when he has been in water.

I've just googled images for molluscum contagiosum
here

belgo · 17/03/2008 15:54

molluscum is a viral infection.

what about an allergic reaction?

crazedupmom · 17/03/2008 15:56

Had a look but they don't look like that.
Those on the picture look more like sort of pimples.
