Its been one thing after a bloody other since Christmas

I thought it was DS1s ecezma faliring up, but over the weekend it got really bad and DS2 woke up with a 'patch' on his face this morning.

Took them both to the GPs and DS1 has it quite bad apparantly, hes on cream and antibiotics, DS2 is just on cream for 3 days but we have a prescription for anti-bis for him if it dooesn't improve.

Been told about seperate towels ect.

Can they still bath together though?

I thought it was chicken pox!

Don't know about bathing together, but Dd1 (10) has also been diagnosed with it this morning.

She cam ehome from her school trip to Franmce with a little patch on her chin, which didn't seem to get any better, so off to the docs today and thats what it is.

Dd has been given cream too, and we have to go back for oral ab's if it doesn't clear up.

Dd is quite upset about it, as she is quite vain LOL.

Well mine are only 3 & 1 so they dont mind!

DS1 has spots ALL over his face, it looks like an awful case of chicken pox to me.

Does it get itchy?

To be honsest I wouldn't worry about bathing the seperately if they are now both on treatment. It stops being contagious after 48 hours on antibiotics anyway although this isn't the case with just the cream.

I have 5 kids and now and again we get a flare up in 1 or 2 of them. It can be a royal pain in the arse to get rid of unless on antibiotics ans especially on the face But early treatment usually means it clears up ok

Just try to get them to not touch (easier said than done I know!)

X posted,
Yes they do get itchy, keep nails as short as possible

amazonianwoman · 17/03/2008 13:43

Once you start on the antibiotics/cream, it clears up really quickly

Disenchanted · 17/03/2008 13:45

Do you think I should just get the anti-B prescription for DS2 NOW? Rather than waiting till wednesday?

The cream alone has always worked fine on DD, even when she had quite a few spots. I could never get her to take anything oral anyway - she was 14mths then about 20mths

Disenchanted · 17/03/2008 14:57

DS has had 2 spoons of antibiotics now and hasnt compalined, DS2 wants it too (he just copies his brother)

I might go and get the prescription.

In that case, definitely get some

magnolia74 · 17/03/2008 20:49

In my experience (which has been awful with impetigo) the antibiotics tend to work much quicker when taken as well as the cream

Disenchanted · 18/03/2008 09:01

Bloody hell, i think I've got it

Big bloody spot on my belly.
