Requesting a copy of one's scan from NHS hospital

I was having thunderclap headaches for about a week and went to the GP and I was sent straight to A&E and blood works & MRI done and I was discharged & glad there was no bleed in the brain

But how do I go about getting that scan from my local hospital because I will like to that it to my neurologist when next I go to see him. I see a neurologist privately not on the NHS.

Neurologist can ask for a copy of the report/ scans to be forwarded to them- maybe call and let them now so you had one?

You can request copies of scans and medical records. Fish around on the hospital website. Does take ages though. Wait is usually 28 days. My hospital x-ray department operates separately so requested all documents, wIted several weeks only to find I had to make a separate enquiry for imaging. Tell your consultant where and when MR I was done and they may get it quicker. Good luck.

I just called up the department and asked. They had it put onto CD and posted to me so I could give it to my GP. The GP promptly lost the disc but that's another story 😫
