Its not lice, nor is it dandruff. Occasionally, i get an itchy scalp.
Ive tried nizoral but its quite drying on the actual hair...

t-gel works well for me

Aero · 15/03/2008 21:58

t-gel coal tar stuff meant to be very good.

cornsilk · 15/03/2008 21:58

mop is good I find.

thehairybabysmum · 15/03/2008 22:04

Aveda works for me...unfortunately its the only one that does as it costs a blody fortune!!

scotsgirl · 16/03/2008 16:35

t-gel good, but you'll need a conditioner too

janeite · 16/03/2008 16:39

T gel (love the smell!), followed by a really good conditioner and some serum on the ends (otherwise I look like an electric shock victim).

Polytar is really good you can get i over the counter at the chemist. xx

McDreamy · 16/03/2008 16:48

DH uses T-Gel

olivo · 16/03/2008 16:55

i use oilatum, its quite expensive but lasts for ages and sorts out my itchy scalp in a couple of days.

LyraSilvertongue · 16/03/2008 16:57

T-gel is made from coal tar, which is the best thing for dry, itchy skin. One wash with T-gel will stop my scalp itching.

bonkerz · 16/03/2008 17:01

i have psoriosis and use elvive intense anti dandruff, i dont have dandruff but it really helps keep my scalp nice.

weebleswobble · 16/03/2008 17:02

I get psoriasis on my head and have tried the coal tar, T'gel, Nizorals etc, but the only thing that actually works for me is baby shampoo. On the recommendation of a nurse at work I rubbed olive oil into my scalp for 4 nights and then washed my hair in the morning with the baby shampoo. It cleared it completely and stopped the itch.

I've tried other shampoos and they all dry my scalp so continue to use the baby shampoo. My hair is very soft and no need for conditioner.

lilymolly · 16/03/2008 17:03

I too occaisionally get an itchy scalp, and use t gel and it goes straight away.
I think I am allergic to DOVE shampoo/conditioner.

I use Vosene as my regular shampoo and t gel every now and then

janeite · 16/03/2008 17:07

I love the smell of Vosene too but am sadly coming to the conclusion that it makes my scalp worse.

vannah · 18/03/2008 20:34

thankyou for these replies, I will start off with the t-gel then...

I know it's supposed to be for dandruff, but Head & Shoulders is the only thing that helped for DH's itchy scalp (and he didn't have dandruff either). It doesn't dry his hair - actually makes it really soft and shiny. Good luck. (By the way, baby shampoo made his scalp worse, we've tried that at the start - but I guess it depends on your skin type).
