Am I delusional, or is there a bulge under my armpit?

It's the left armpit, nothing seems solid to me. But it seems bigger to me than my right armpit. I never paid attention to the appearance of my armpit before, so I don't remember well what it would be like if it were normal? I'm confused

I see what you mean but it could just be the flesh sagging a bit. If you can't feel anything, that's a good sign. I'd keep an eye on it. My son had a lump under his armpit that grew quickly. It was a cyst. The doctor said it was a good sign it was mobile (bear that in mind if you do feel a lump)

Rocksonabeach · 22/12/2023 15:08

I would make an immediate appointment with your GP to get it looked at an examined. Why would you not? Your GP can compare both sides and feel the bulge - we can’t

Bearpawk · 22/12/2023 15:09

If you can't feel a lump then it's just the skin sagging.

apter · 22/12/2023 15:12

@SallyWD yea, I touched it more than once, and I turned to the side of the mirror to check if there was something swollen or there was something like a pimple, but I did not feel anything. I don't see anything when I turn to the side of the mirror, it looks very normal. But when I put my shoulder down, I see sagging flesh.
My weight is 57 kilograms.

@Rocksonabeach I don't know how many times I went to the GP in the past 5 months. I always end up being diagnosed with things that are not serious. So I want to make sure this time before going to a doctor.

I see. Do you have health anxiety?

apter · 22/12/2023 15:18

@Bearpawk I thought I would keep an eye on it for a while, thinking about rubbing it in olive oil

In which case I truly do not know what to say.

Any reassurance me, PP or a GP provides you will act like petrol on the fire that is health anxiety. This is because it thrives and lives and survives purely on this thing called “reassurance seeking”.

Your post on this forum is one of the very important petal of this vicious flower.

It’s precisely because nobody can 100% say what X thing is - or is not - that this cycle will sustain itself

(unless you address it).

Olive oil? Why? Just ignore it unless it changes a lot

Are you breastfeeding atm or stopped recently, it could just be some milk engorgement- I get it there, there's a specific name for the milk gland in that spot

Edit as I looked it up - it's called (implausibly) the Tail of Spence

apter · 22/12/2023 15:25

@Combusting I don't know how I got into this anxiety!!
My mother tells me that since I am still 26 years old, I will not get sick so quickly. A week ago, I decided to stop searching for information on the Internet. It seems that this will eliminate my health anxiety, but I do not deny that I am still afraid.

@Mumoftwo1312 I am not married, I have no children.
But I don't exercise regularly. I recently gained 58 kilograms (I was 56 last 3 months). Is it possible that this affects my armpits?

I'm no help if it isn't breastfeeding related! I'm not sure I can see anything in the picture but you could see your gp just for peace of mind

It looks like a normal arm pit to me . I can make all sorts of lumps and bumps appear on my body depending on how I position myself.
