I had a gastroscope yesterday. I went for the sedation; I remember the doctor saying he wouldn’t explain the results there and then as I wouldn’t remember due to the sedation. He did put his thumb up and say ‘all good.’
There are some things on the report that do concern me though. The diagnosis part says:
- 3cm sliding hiatus hernia (which I knew about).
- lax sphincter with gastric mucosal prolapse.
- 15mm gastric polyp in fundus region.
It’s the polyp that’s worrying me. He took biopsies so I have to wait for the results but is anyone able to offer any reassurance? Later in the report he referred to it as a hamartomatous polyp with stigmata of bleeding!
I’ve had awful health anxiety in the past; it’s been under control for a few years now but I can feel it circling 😪.
Thank you!
