Zydol - any chemists/pharmacists out there?

Nearly two weeks ago I did something horrible to my back; the doctor has me on diazepam, volterol and zydol. I had a very curious reaction where my upper torso went numb and itched really badly; I also spent quite a lot of time in an alternative reality. The doc decided it was the (anti)histamine(?) in the zydol and I've stopped taking it; sure enough all those effects have stopped. However, the diazepam and the volterol are not enough to keep the pain at bay, and I am seriously tempted to take zydol anyway. How damaging are those side-effects likely to be if I take the occasional one?

i have seen ppl off the planet and even become violent on zydol. Seems to effect some ppl really bad. how many did you have to have side effects

You really need some professional advice here.

I can only tell you that when I have to resort to Zydol, I also get spaced out feelings and can't really function properly so I do take them as a last resort. My sister however takes 8 a day with no side effects!

There are so many painkillers available that your doc should be able to find you one that suits you better.

Sorry not to reply to your posts sooner, but can't sit at computer for too long and had to go and lie down.

It was two, three times a day; after a couple of days I cut it down to one, three times and the effects weren't so bad. I hadn't got violent or even cross, just inhabited a slightly different world which looked pretty much the same and had similar people in it, but everything was different somehow. I also slept a lot - luckily probably. The numbness went as soon as I'd cut down, the itching became more bearable. When I asked doc about it he just told me not to take them but didn't offer anything else.

I tried phoning local chemist today to talk to the pharmacist, but they're v busy on Saturdays and didn't answer. I couldn't walk down there because of bad back!

I know paracetomol is OK with Volterol so I'm trying that, but it's not that great. I'm also a bit unhappy about taking diazepam for nearly two weeks, but they do keep the spasms down, so don't want to give them up yet, unless it's imperative.
