conjunctivits and party dilemma

its dd1 birthday party and its at home. dd2 has a little conjunctivitis due to sore throad and cold. she's on antibiotics for the sore throat. she had it yesterday afternoon and a little this morning but nothing since.
kids at the party range from 3 to 10 yrs old.

should dd2 stay or should DH take her out??? read a few things that say no sharing of towels, utensils, wash hands etc, and infection would be from eye-hand-eye.

really dont know what to do.

I may be wrong here, but isn't the sticky eye some kids get with a cold a different thing to actual conjunctivitis, and no more infectious or 'bad' than the cold itself? If this is indeed the case, and she's well enough otherwise to attend the party and enjoy it, then I don't see why she shouldn't.

the doctor didnt seem worried about it and just said to maintain good hygiene. i'm thinking along the same lines. she is also on antibiotics so that would clear things up quicker as well.

she's more than well within herself to enjoy the party!!

Ditto, enjoy the party.

If it was sickness and diarrhea then obviously things would be different.

Does sound like its more like to be a symptom of the cold rather than actual conjunctivitis!

Watch out for face painting

despite it being reputedly so contagious, i've never experienced it spreading within our outside our family, even though we've had a few instances of it each. i wouldn't worry. also, im not a particular advocate of homeopathy but every time we get it i use pulsatilla and euphrasia and it always clears up immediately.
