Have I got appendicitis?

Hey, wondering if anyone can help share their experiences and thoughts.

I have had worsening pain in my lower right hand side abdomen for the last four days or so, it’s always there and it hasn’t gone away. It’s worse with coughing and some movement.

I also seen to be going to the loo more often and increasingly feel nauseous like I want to be sick and I’m not hungry at all but have forced myself to eat as normal.

gp today said it could either be period which is not at all likely given the fact I have pcos and it’s not near that time of the cycle for me or she said it could be inflamed appendix?

she told me to keep an eye on symptoms and come back if it gets worse … It isn’t going away and is making me really feel sick. I don’t know what to do next but I don’t want to make a fuss.

any experiences or words of wisdom? Pain is about a 4/5, nauseous level 7.

@northernsunshine also, I was fine (ish) until I wasn’t. I hardly ate for the week but didn’t feel terrible. I functioned pretty much normally (two small children!) then woke up in the night drenched in sweat, unable to move or breathe with the pain. I had 7 CT scans in the fortnight I was in hospital but like @gingergiraffe I had multiple abdominal abscesses and other complications (I did a comprehensive job of it). No surgery as my body had formed a mass around the appendix from my other organs so it was too risky to operate. How are you today?

My low right hand pain was a ruptured ectopic, extremely painful stabbing pain, I got to the GP (somehow) he called an ambulance and I was straight into surgery at the hospital. I was apparently bleeding freely internally and very nearly died.

I had pretty much your exact symptoms. I thought I had bad period pains for 3/4 days. I was sick a couple of times on the 4th day of cramps.
I wouldn't have thought it was my appendix.
Definitely worth going to A&E!

They thought I had appendicitis and took me to surgical assessment, then I went back the next day for an ultrasound. Turned out to be diverticulitis (discovered 6 months later in a colonoscopy). Please go to a&e.
