2 weeks of upset stomach

I have had what I thought was a stomach bug for 2 weeks now. Cramps and diarrhoea maybe 5/6 times a day including in the night. Fortunately the cramps have started to ease now but the diarrhoea continues. I’ve tried imodium a couple of times but it hasn’t helped. No one else in my house has been ill so I convinced myself it was campylobacter and would be fixed with antibiotics, I gave in a stool sample on day 10 which has today come back negative. I’m eating very plain foods and only having water which also doesn’t seem to help.
I’ve now got myself into a state that its something more serious and will continue throughout the xmas period and ruin all the fun things I’ve got planned with my little girl.
Has anyone else had this and what did it turn out to be? Thanks x

Many years ago I had this, my doctor said it was food poisoning but I was never tested. Diarrhoea so awful I was passing only mucous at stages, bleeding from piles where I was on the loo so much. It lasted over 2 weeks, maybe 3? I vomited once but other than that it was just diarrhoea and cramps. Lost about half a stone.

Same as @SpottyCrumpet - summer of 2005 I had food poisoning that left me with an upset stomach and vomiting intermittently for about ten days. I ended up in hospital on fluids, I was so ill. They never got to the bottom of it besides it being food poisoning as every test came back negative. TBH my stomach has never been the same since and I had severe IBS for several years after, although (touch wood) it's not so bad now. My top tips short term are Lucozade Sport, a larger dose of Imodium and aloe vera capsules to soothe things (they're good for an irritated stomach). Keep yourself hydrated so you don't end up in A&E like I did! I hope it calms down soon

Are you having any dairy? I am always sensitive to dairy after a stomach bug

Yes I’m experiencing exactly the same for over 2 weeks now.

I had something like this about 10 years ago. It was a bug that I caught from changing a mild diarrhoea nappy (despite being very careful, handwashing etc). The child in question has loose stools for a couple of days after being sent home ill, but I ended up with a 2.5 week diarrhoea fest. It was exhausting. All of my stool samples were fine.
