Can I drink alcohol now? Gallbladder removal

Hi all
I had my gallbladder removed a week ago. I’m nearly back to my normal self only thing I can’t do is lift anything heavy yet but I’ve recovered pretty well other than that just taking it easy.
im on no pain medication anymore - up until yesterday but that was only paracetamol and ibuprofen occasionally.

when will I be aloud a glass of wine? How soon did everyone reintroduce alcohol? I haven’t drunk for nearly 2 years now..

no issues with reintroducing foods so far

thank you

Yes - I was drinking wine within a week or 2. No ill effects

You should be fine to have some wine now, unless you were instructed otherwise by the hospital. Go carefully, though - after a break of nearly 2 years any alcohol you do drink will probably get you tipsy much quicker than you might suppose.

I had my gallbladder out last year. There was no strict diet that I had to follow but, to introduce fatty foods gradually. I find having alcohol since having my gallbladder removed causes me to have symptoms similar to when I had gallstones. I avoid alcohol because it’s left me in a lot discomfort and pain. It may be different for you but, you will need to try and see. Hope this helps!
