Are they no longer contagious when the spots appear?

Putting DS2 to bed and DH noticed 2 on his arm, 1 in groin and a couple on back.

Will see what tomorrow morning brings, but he should be going to nursery!!

They are no longer contagious when the last blister has scabbed over as it is the blisters that contain the infection.

sorry, they're still contagious until the spots have completely dried out and scabbed over.

nope, at least 5 days after erupting. No nursery tomorrow, he would also have been contagious today and possibly yesterday, and ask about their exclusion policy.

LizS - he was at nursery Mon. They had chickenpox in the nursery half term week.
