Unwell all the time with new baby

Hi all,

I am a new mum with a 6 month old. Most of the care for my DC I do as my partner works 6 days a week due to our relocation.

I feel like either I am sick, the baby is sick or we are jointly sick and this happens every week for me.
Now I've got a sore throat and blocked nose.

I know I am EXTREMELY Exhausted but can it seriously effect health that much?

Any advice for getting through these first few years and to prevent colds etc?
I know t that the baby needs to build his immune system and so this can't be helped.

I take some breastfeeding multi vitamins but these don't seem to be helping much.

I get real anxiety when I'm unwell and I'm not sure if this is making it worse? My anxiety after having a baby is generally worse.

Also I have a bad habit of biting my nails which I can't seem to kick and I'm wondering this is to blame too?

Any advice would be much appreciated as I want my life back and not to be stuck at home all the time.

When your exhausted your busy just gets run down, and your immune system will be struggling. I have a 17 month old and like you I do all the childcare as my partner works and I’m ALWAYS sick now. Same with my LO. Gets lots of snotty noses Etc you could book in the GP just to check if anything is going on? Though it’s likely they will say it’s just “new mum problems”

Hey I went to the GP and tan some blood tests and said everything was fine.
I think I’ve decided to try and slow down and do the bare minimum whilst not well and see if that helps. OH is away for 2 days and it’s just me and the baby so I will take it easy. If the house looks like a bomb site it just does!!!

like you I know as little one gets older I’ll probably feel worse as he brings home the bugs.

has anything helped with illness and recovery?
