Severe health anxiety

Hi all - I have severe health anxiety and I haven’t stopped crying since yesterday. I’m on blood thinners as I had a clot 4 years ago due to pregnancy (currently heavily pregnant) I’m only On a small preventative dose. Anyway, last night my 2yo hit me on the head with the tv remote. It didn’t really hurt just feels tender when I touch. I’m not dizzy or confused or sick etc but I’m panicking I’m going to have a brain bleed and die due to the thinners.

Ive spoken to my friend whose a nurse and she says it would only be a serious banh like a car crash, falling frown the stairs and cracking your head open etc but my health anxiety won’t let me rest.

just looking for some reassurance as I’m going mad 😭

Oh OP. Bless you. I have health anxiety too and I completely understand how you’re feeling.

your nurse friend is right. You don’t have to worry about that at all xx

Kindly, continuing to seek reassurance is feeding your anxiety. It's a feedback loop.

Think about it logically - you say yourself it didn't really hurt, you are only on a low dose of blood thinners - if the meds were that dangerous then you would be advised to wear a helmet - so rationally a little bash to the head is not a problem. Listen to your friend, and please seek help for the health anxiety if you are not already doing so. Best wishes.
