Tickly dry cough at night after cold

Ds and I both had colds that cleared up last week. During the day we are absolutely fine. Every night though for the past week we have been coughing loads in the night. Not concerned about chest infections or anything as it's not on our chest at all just this horrible dry cough.

I'm not too bad and go back to sleep after some medicine or cough sweet but ds is up for ages coughing.

Have tried humidifiers, honey, sleeping elevated

Anyone else had this?

And got long is it likely to last

Had it for about a week but also have cough type asthma so that may be some of it.
Try to make sure your bedroom is the same temp as your lounge as the change in temp would set me off.
I did a lot of box breathing and stacked breathing which helped I think.

Thank you. Not so bad for new bus ds6 is shattered after being up several times a night coughing :(
