FIT test due to anaemia

I recently had a general health test, offered by my GP practice for everyone once they turn 40. How good is that ?

My blood test showed I'm a little anaemia and so I was called in today to do a FIT test (Fecal immunochemical test) incase there is some internal blood loss or bowel cancer. I understand they're ruling it out but I'm worrying because I have had a pain in my bum for 4 years since giving blood birth to my son which I always put down to damaging my coccyx in childbirth but now I'm worried what if it's something else.

I don't have any other symptoms other than I do feel extremely tired sometimes but got a 4 and 2 year old so thought that was just life.

Can anyone reassure me about FIT tests? Are they always requested when someone is slightly anaemic ?
I don't have any obvious risk factors I don't think.

Yes, don’t worry. Nice guidelines say under 60 with iron-deficiency anaemia.

It's good your GP has suggested this as its important that the cause of anaemia is found and can be treated properly. Iron tablets alone won't always solve the problem

Yes, I had the same, had fit test and lots
Of others tests including colonoscopy, endoscopy. No cause found but I'm vegetarian and so I was given a list of foods to take

I have anaemia, had a FIT test last month and it was clear. I am having bowel issues which I'm just waiting for a gastro appointment at the hospital
