DD had porridge for breakfast with a few v soft raisins in it (which went in whole) - by 2.30 they'd been pooed out..... is this why my little darling is hungry at night?

I have a very fast metabolism, and wonder if this is a sign of her having one too?

she's 7 months by the way

This is really common, dd was the same. It's often referred to as "toddler diarrhoea" but really it just means that she has a fast gut transit time so food moves through her gut quickly meaning that foods that are harder to digest can often make an appearance at the other end looking pretty unchanged!

It doesn't mean that you should modify her diet or that there ia anything wrong with her so long as she is growing well. Dd's gut seems to be slowing down a bit now that she is coming up to 2 years and we are down from around 4 poos/day to 2-3.

Its normal

really ?? That fast? I'm a bloody nurse, so it shouldn't suprise me, but she's so little, how does her poor body have time to absorb anything?

they hardly absorb anything- think this is why milk is most important food group and should make up majority of calories until one.

try teling that to my DD who feeds for 5 minutes at a time. She only ever take 5 oz of formula feed too. And she was like this before I gave her food too!!
