Upset stomach after gallstone removal

I had a gallstone removed from my bile duct via ERCP on Thursday

This was deemed a success and the consultant says they also witnessed a large amount of backed up sludge bile draining away.

Since then I've had a really upset tummy with some very urgent dashes required.

Should I be worried this is happening three days later. I would have thought all the sludge would have gone by now.

I had my gallbladder removed a year ago and still get bile acid diarrhea time to time if I've eaten anything too fatty. It caused by an excess of bile in the intestines....in my case because I have no gallbladder and bile drips constantly into my intestines and in your case, probably because you've had a surge of it.
The sludge that entered your system will undoubtedly affect your stools.
There is medication you can take to help absorb the excess bile, but I'd think at 3day post surgery it'd be seen as normal recovery.
Hope it settles soon as empathise with the urgency and burning it causes!

Thanks that's what was in my mind. I am just so surprised how the ercp has knocked me for six compared to the endoscopic ultrasound.
