Think I have something in my ear - how do I get it out?

I just itched my ear and when I stick my finger in, it's making an odd noise - crunching almost? Like I am squahing a wing of something. Really giving me the heebie jeebies - how do I get whatever it is out? I think I may have ear cleaning squirty stuff somewhere, but will I push it in more? When I push my ear it's making the noise too [ewww]

maybe it's lots of wax?

can someone look in it for you to see if there's any cruching wing thing?

Def. not wax, been scooping away with my little finger nail (lovely, eh? ) I'll get DH to have a look... so paranoid it's a bug and it's going to breed in my ear or something! [daft]

Could be dry wax - that crunches.

Is there a walk-in centre near you? That's the best place to go as they can have a proper look, and will have the tools to extract it if it is a foreign body.

did your mother used to tell you the stories about insects that crawled into your ear and then laid eggs too? (mine did, bastards lol) and I was always scared of stuff like that as a kid.

I'm sure it's nothing - dh will be able to tell you I'm sure. My ear often makes that noise when it's full of wax (deep down, so you wouldn't be able to pick it with your finger). I'd stop jabbing your finger in because you might be poking anything further in. I'm sure, if it was something, it'd want to come out not stay in anyway!

I've put that ear cleaning stuff in at the mo., I'll let that work it's majoc first then see if the pop in centre is open still neary (ish) - definatly don't want whatever it is to stay in there! I am trying not to poke around too much

Try and pour some oil(sweet almond/olive)into your ear if you can. If it is alive it will kill it.

This happened to me a long, long time ago and I managed to push a moth into my ear. (don't ask!) I had to go to A&E because of the noise it made flapping around inside my ear.
They put oil into my ear then used a suction thing to suck it out.
Making me feel all queasy thinking about it again.
