Period like bleeding 15 days - depo

Hi all

I've had my first Depo-Provera shot at the start of August. For the first month and a little bit I had no bleeding at all but I've now been bleeding for over 2 weeks in a medium to heavy flow, needing pads quite often but not every hour or anything. Just feeling physically exhausted. When will this end? I'm really run down by this point if I'm honest.

Not sure if it's worth speaking to the nurse about it at my next appointment?
Any experiences or words of wisdom helpful.

Sorry to hear you're having a rubbish experience with depo. The same happened to me, unfortunately it is impossible to predict what will happen bleeding wise as it is very different from one woman to another.
As far as I remember mine did get lighter and then came and went randomly. I gave up after 2 injections though.
It's definitely worth mentioning it to the nurse as I think they can give you the pill on top to.try and stop bleeding.

That's a shame you are struggling with the depo.

I suffered the same and kept suffering for about a year hoping things would improve before I gave up on it.

I would suggest speaking to the nurse, but I suspect they will say to give it some time to see if the bleeding settles down as it does in some cases

I gave up after my 2nd one too due to bleeding. I also put on a lot of weight with it

I was bleeding constantly on the depo. I came off it, wasn’t worth it and I was constantly hungry put on a load of weight.

Im in the same boat have had 3 depo and have had bleeding none stop. Last month i had 4 days were i didnt have any then started again rang the doctors as it was getting to much to be told it can be normal and can take a year to stop and told me to put up with it so i told them im stopping and not to give me anything else im letting my body get back to normal.
