LTH - yes, I would and did.
DH had chest pains and was too busy to go so I just made an appointment and told him to be there @ that time.
If were not so serious would lol at SirTH & the shed base...

kaballie · 06/03/2008 18:53

Sometimes guys need a kick up the arse to go to the doctor. Mine called me a hypochondriac but if I hadn't told him to get the lump seen to in his leg 18 months ago he wouldn't still be around today. He doesn't call me that anymore suprisingly!

So, sometimes you just have to make them! I'm sure it's just one of those things though DD has had diarrhoea for 7 days now! Lots going around.

LifeIsHell · 06/03/2008 18:58

No, and wouldn't go myself either. Not unless it was making me feel quite terrible in general (in which case I wouldn't feel like building a shed, would I?).

choosyfloosy · 06/03/2008 19:00

if well enough to make a shed base, no iwouldn't. unless he was suddenly too ill again in the evening to do bedtime.

Twinkie1 · 06/03/2008 19:00

If DH had it for that long I would make him go to Bolivia or somewhere far from me is a stinky bugger at the best of times and never cleans the loo - god for that long and you let him stay?

BoysOnToast · 06/03/2008 19:01

yeah, esp if he was
A, moaning about it constantly in man-flu fashion, and
B, walking around doing stinky bad-tummy farts and stinking the place out.

sensitive arent i?

kaballie · 06/03/2008 19:06

I have to say I'm impressed. There aren't many men who would get out and build a shed with the shits. Think you've got a keeper there.

ladytophamhatt · 06/03/2008 19:09

he has disgusting eggy burps aswell.

he'd carry on building the shed etc if his legs were falling off and his hands were guled to the side of his head so 6 days of the shits won#t stop him!

When he's finished yours can he come round here & build one for us ?

Wisteria · 06/03/2008 19:18

No -he's probably got a bug which will waste docs time and give it to all the people in the surgery.

FourPlusOne · 06/03/2008 19:18

I don't know, but would definitely make him bleach the toilets - and not sleep in our bed!

It is probably best that he's out in the garden anyway.

coastalmum · 06/03/2008 19:22

If your concerned call doc and get your dh a telephone consultation, lot less effort for your dh .
Also saves everyone in surgery catching bug too.

Catzy · 06/03/2008 19:35

He sounds like a joy to live with.... coming out each end.

I would def get him to dr's

ladytophamhatt · 06/03/2008 20:49

he says he's lost 5lbs in 6 days!!!

Tha really cannot be good, can it?

OP posts:
MehgaLegs · 06/03/2008 20:51

He shoukld go but be prepared for him coming home with one of those test tubes with the little scoopy bit for a sample.

desperatedora · 06/03/2008 21:38

The diarrhoea and eggy burps sounds like a bug called giardiasis. I wouldn't bother going to the gp after having it a week, especially if I were fit enough to build a shed (never have been THAT fit!)

If it is giardiasis then it can go on for quite a few weeks. Only make him go if he actually starts to feel ill with it or it really does drag on.

ladytophamhatt · 07/03/2008 18:28

Dh spoke to the Gp rather than going down to the surgery.
GP said they'll do a sample on monday if its still bad

He was up and down to the tiolet all evening last night and during the night. He looks awful today(although still went out in the garden after he got home rom work) and you can really see he's lost weight, he said it about 7 lbs now!!

Dora, it does sound like giardiasis and the symptons etc match prefectly but where on earth could he have caught it from??
It says drinking water comtaminated with faeces causes it....
