Child's hair loss

My daughter (8) has curly/frizzy hair. It's almost wire like and can get very out of control if not washed and blow dried. I keep her hair French braided as there have been several outbreaks of lice at school. I am terrified of lice so keep her hair braided and use hedrin protect and go spray. I Havnt been able to find the spray in shops for months so Havnt been using it. Over the last few weeks I have noticed her hair falling out quite a bit when washing. I can also see her hair is significantly thinner. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on what I can do to strengthen her hair and help with hair loss. Is this something I should see the doctor about?

One of my DC (different hair type) had hair loss at age 10. GP did a blood test and prescribed a particular type of iron supplement. I also gave B vitamins. This helped a lot, but took around 3 months to see any results and about a year to get back to normal.

I have ordered biotin tablets for children this evening and hoping they will help. I think it may be worth a blood test as her diet isn't great it's a fight trying to get good food into her so there could be something lacking, thank you

If she has curly hair you are probably doing it absolutely no favours treating it lik this. Please read a bit about h curly girl method

Overly tight plaits and pony tails can cause hair loss

@Exactfare thanks I will look into this. I don't braid her hair tight, just enough for it to be kept tidy and not hanging down
