Help! Doctor or no doctor - covid related

I have tested positive for covid but my throat is agony. My soft pallet is very red (like it's lost skin) with white blobs. My tongue has yellow white gunge and when I wiped a bit off my tongue bled (not dramatically!) Eating is very painful so I'm basically on liquid or yogurt diet.

Obviously I can't go to a doctor but do I try to get an appointment for a phone consult? Is there any point, can anything be done or will it be a case of keep using the over the counter remedies? I don't want to waste anyone's time if it's like a cold and basically you live with it until it goes.

Thank you!

Covid tongue. It is painful. You can develop a fungal infection. Worth calling as they may be able to prescribe something if it is fungal, you could upload a photo for the GP if your surgery has online booking options. Difflam oral rinse helped me with the pain.

What is ‘COVID tongue’ and what does it look like?

Changes to your tongue and mouth ulcers could be a sign of COVID-19. Here’s what to look out for.

Oh I'd forgotten that bit of my first go with Covid!

I could only sip lukewarm cup a soup 🤢

See if you can get one of the covid antiviral medications. I took molnupiravir when I had it and it was very helpful. I felt much better in 24 hours.
